Okay, we’re going to start off here by saying that yes – of course you can use Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok and all the other social platforms out there to build brand visibility. However, socials are not, and should not be, your only tool in building brand awareness. Socials, and the algorithm, are fickle and there are other tools you can use alongside them that can be so much more powerful in not only making your brand more visible, but making it more visible to the right type of people.
1. Get Your Business on Google
Set up a Google Business Profile. This is FREE and will literally take you 10 minutes. You can link your website, socials, photographs, Google Reviews and get on Google Maps here. You can leave messages for visitors too! Even if you don’t have a website, you can set it up and clients can find you on Google through having a Google Business Profile.
If you have a website, set up Google Search Console and Google Analytics. “What isn’t measured, can’t be improved.” – You should be tracking your website’s analytics through these free tools to ensure it is not only visible, but having the right impact on your audience. One final note here, make sure your website sitemap has been submitted to Google for indexing so that your audience can find your content through Google searches.
Below is an easy video tutorial showing you how to add your sitemap to Google through the Yoast SEO plugin.
2. Set Up Your Email Marketing
Create a newsletter signup on your website and offer freebies (lead magnets) to incentivise users to sign up to your mailing list. Use email marketing to communicate with engaged followers about services, offers and products. These people are already interested in what you have to say and will most likely open emails you send them. At AWD, our open rate is sitting at 67%, with many of these people not likely seeing our content on socials due to the saturated nature of Instagram feeds and content getting lost in the grid.
We use Kit (formerly known as ConvertKit) for our email marketing campaigns. It integrates beautifully with WordPress, allowing you to build landing pages for your freebies and link them to your WordPress site seamlessly.
3. Create a Blog on Your Website
We’ve done a whole blog post on why having a blog on your website is a MUST over here (so meta, we know!). In terms of brand visibility, blog posts massively help your SEO (search engine optimisation, basically how well you rank on Google and are discoverable there).
Blog post content may seem like it would be difficult to create, but you can repurpose social media content (would you believe us if we told you this very blog post is based on an Instagram carousel from March 2024?!). Blog posts also position you as an expert, allowing you to be visible to high ticket clients and get them lining out the door for your services.
So image building a strategic WordPress website that is discoverable on Google, has integrated email marketing and is home to your very own blog! It’s a surefire way of stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight you deserve. Showing up is important, but how you’re showing up will attract those 2025 vision board clients.
